I have taught and examined two modules of the Diploma in Hypnosis Applied to Dentistry at University College London, and continue to regularly teach these modules with the Hypnosis Unit UK in London and Belfast.

 

I also regularly lecture on hypnosis to newly qualified VDP dentists and dental therapists in the West of Scotland and teach on the BSMDH Scotland training courses.

 

I am due to lecture to undergraduate dental students on 23rd April 2008 on “Hypnosis and Complimentary therapies in Dentistry” at Dundee Dental Hospital and School.

Having completed my Vocational Training year in the practice, I worked in Callander for a further year as an associate. During my two years here I became skilled in the use of Nitrous Oxide Sedation, supplementing my practical experience with CPD courses.   

 

Aug 00- Aug 01 Forth Valley Health Board. Sunday Emergency dental service at Orchard House.

Locum position working in a Government funded , Aboriginal health centre in Cairns, Queensland, Australia. Appointment included working in a mobile dental van on the Atherton Tablelands for 7 weeks.

 

Dec 01-Mar 02 Dr James Auld’s Dental Surgery, Inverell

New South Wales, Australia. Locum in busy, private, amalgam-free practice. Dr Auld has a keen interest in anxiety management. He is the Past President of both the Australian Society of Hypnosis and the Australian Society of Dental Anaesthesiology. This locum position benefited me greatly in my studies of dental anxiety management.
